“Parting is such sweet sorrow”

We said goodbye to Xsara on Saturday as we handed over the keys to the lovely team from Bradley Breakers in Benidorm.

That sorrowful moment was made sweet by the coincidental and unexpected arrival of someone who had known my Dad for many years. He said such kind words and laughed with us at how absurd Dad would have found the idea of driving the Xsara 1700 miles to Benidorm when it hadn’t been further than the supermarket in years!

Unlike Juliet, who saw sweetness in the fact she would soon see Romeo again, the mechanical entity that is Dad’s Citroen Xsara is now gone but the memory’s and associations will live on.

We also raised over a thousand pounds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. So a good week all round.
